About us

We are the IT department you would have hired.

Facet MSP is the managed IT division of Facet Interactive — a US-based team across Los Angeles, Miami, and Tampa, built to work the way an in-house IT department would if you had the time and budget to build one from scratch. That means someone who answers the phone, explains what happened in plain language, and is still there next quarter — not a vendor relationship measured in ticket closure rates.

Facet MSP started as the IT half of a digital agency

Facet Interactive was founded in 2020 as a digital agency — building websites, running ad campaigns, and standing up the marketing technology behind both. Managed IT was not the plan.

It became one anyway. Clients who hired Facet Interactive to build a website kept asking the same follow-up question: while you're in here, can you also look at why email keeps going down, or why nobody can find last quarter's files? The IT problems sat right next to the marketing work, and somebody had to answer them. Managed IT became a division because the demand was already there — not because anyone drew up a business plan for it first.

That order of operations is the differentiator. Most MSPs come at IT from the break-fix side — a technician who started doing repair work and grew into managed services. Facet came at it from the business-outcome side: the same discipline that goes into a campaign that has to convert, applied to a network that has to stay up. The engineers who staff that division brought their own history with them — collectively, the team carries 15+ years of experience running SMB environments, learned before Facet Interactive existed. The company is younger than that experience; what it inherited was a team that had already spent years figuring out what keeps a 20-to-200-person business running.

None of that changes what "managed IT" means day to day: monitoring that catches a failing disk before it becomes an outage, patching that happens on a schedule instead of after something goes wrong, and a help desk that treats "my laptop is slow" as seriously as a full-blown incident, because for the person who called, it is one. What changes is who is accountable when something falls through the cracks — a single division that answers for the whole environment, not a chain of vendors each pointing at the other's part of the stack.

The environments themselves run on a modern, standardized set of tools rather than whatever a client happened to already have: Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra for identity and cloud; Intune and Defender for device management and endpoint security; Teams and SharePoint for collaboration; Huntress and Proofpoint layered on for threat detection and email security; Acronis for backup; ConnectWise for ticketing; Ubiquiti and Fortinet for network hardware. Standardizing means an engineer who has never touched a specific client's account can still troubleshoot it correctly on the first call, because the underlying stack is one the whole team already knows.

That standardization is also what let the division grow past its first office. What started in Los Angeles now runs three physical offices, a single US-based support team, and 500+ users across all three — without the environment fragmenting into three different sets of tools and three different sets of habits along the way. Growth added coverage across time zones; it did not add inconsistency.

Four commitments, not a brochure

Every MSP's marketing site says some version of "responsive," "transparent," and "trusted partner." Those words don't mean anything on their own, so here is what they mean in practice for a Facet MSP client — specific enough that you can hold us to each one, and specific enough that you'll notice right away if we stop.

We answer the phone.

No IVR tree, no ticket number standing in for a person, no offshore queue reading from a script. Call the number on this site during business hours and someone who knows your environment picks up. If your issue needs to be handed off, it's handed to a colleague who can already see your history — you don't start over.

We tell you what we did.

Every ticket closes with a plain-language note on what broke, what we did about it, and whether it's likely to happen again — not a status code and not IT jargon translated for nobody. If a fix was a workaround rather than a real solution, we say that too, and what it would take to close the gap for good.

We do not mark up and hope you never check.

Hardware and software you buy through us costs what it costs. Our fee is the service — monitoring, support, and accountability — not a spread hidden inside every line item on an invoice you were never meant to read closely.

Your documentation is yours.

Network diagrams, credentials, and asset registers belong to you, in a form you can hand to the next provider — not to a system you would need us to unlock if you ever left. Continuity should not be a reason to stay.

Those numbers describe one support desk, not four regional ones with different playbooks. A client in any of the three time zones gets the same monitoring stack, the same escalation path, and the same answer to "who do I call."

One team, three offices

Facet MSP runs on three physical offices and one support team — not three separate ones stitched together by handoffs. A ticket opened by an LA client and one opened by a Tampa client are handled the same way, by people who work in the same systems and follow the same standards, whichever coast picks up the phone. Every account gets a named engineer who knows your environment, not a rotating queue that starts every call by asking you to re-explain yourself. If your engineer is out, the next person who picks up can already see your history — the account is owned by the team, not locked to one person's memory. That's the practical difference between hiring an outsourced vendor and having an IT department that happens to sit somewhere else: accountability doesn't disappear when one person is out sick or on vacation.

None of that requires knowing anyone's name in advance. What it requires is that when you call, the person who answers already knows yours — your environment, your history, and that what you've told us matters to your business. That's the part of hiring an in-house IT department that a website can't fake with a stock photo and a job title, and it's the part we've built the whole company around. When we do have real names, faces, and bios to put on this page instead of office photos, we will — that is tracked as its own piece of work, not a placeholder we're pretending isn't one.
